(as may be written on a title deed in Iran) one-twelfth of the entirety of (the piece of property whose description follows) – For purposes of transfer and conveyance, every single piece of property in Iran, movable or landed, is theoretically considered as being composed of six equal parts each part being traditionally designated one دانگ (dong, or dawng) that is one-sixth of the property, and نيم دانك therefore being half of a dawng or one-twelfth of the property NOTE : There are several hundred compound-nouns and adjectives in Persian beginning with نيم many of which may also equally begin with the prefix نيمه . There are no hard and fast rules whereby to decide beforehand which nouns or adjectives among them may also be said with the other prefix as well and the safest criteria is to rely on Persian dictionaries and printed sources by leading authors or on the advice of educated native speakers of the language.
